Odisha: Man Climbs Atop Electric Tower In Cuttack To Shout About His Life Problems, Rescued

Cuttack: In a bizarre incident, a man climbed atop a high electric transmission tower in Jobra area here in the wee hours today and started shouting about his life problems.

The man indulged in the dare-devilry act was later identified as Prakash Pani.

The incident came to the fore when some passers-by were traveling by the road and noticed pieces of paper flying down from a high tower. When they looked up, they saw Prakash perched on top of the electric tower. He was throwing little pieces of important documents to the ground while shouting out his life problems.

He screamed that he was not getting a government job despite several requests. He also said that this was not a suicide attempt, instead it was a unique way of protest. He also threatened that if the country did not care about its citizens, then he might as well join the terrorists or migrate to China or Pakistan.

According to sources, Prakash had also jumped in the cage of a tiger as a mark of protest.

On intimation, cops and fire personnel gathered in the spot and negotiated with Prakash. They told him that they would personally talk to the Collector to secure a job for him. After several minutes, Prakash was rescued and brought down to safety.
