Odisha: Major Gang War Among Engg Students Averted In Capital City, 3 Bullets Seized

Bhubaneswar: A gang war was averted on Wednesday night as Commissionerate Police arrested two students of private engineering college in Bhubaneswar for allegedly brandishing guns at other classmates. The accused have been identified as Aryan Singh alias Molu, a native of Raipur in Chhattisgarh and Utsav Singh alias Babu of Bihar.

Reportedly, two student groups of the same college were constantly at loggerheads following which they had been debarred from living in the hostel. They used to threaten each other by citing their political links. Tension erupted when the accused duo threatened the members of the rival group by brandishing gun on the roof of an apartment. As per reports, the duo had plotted to kill one of their batchmates.

On intimation, cops rushed to the spot and conducted raid. They recovered three live bullets from the spot and nabbed Molu and Babu. The gun is yet to be traced by the police, stated reports.

While a case under IPC R/W-25/27 Arms Act has been registered, further probe into the matter is currently underway.
