Bhubaneswar: The lockdown across Odisha, which was supposed to end on April 14, has been extended till month-end.
The information was made public by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a special public address stating that human lives take priority over economic stability.
He added that he has requested the Central government to extend the national lockdown till month-end and accordingly suspend rail and air services till the lockdown is lifted. However, he clarified that irrigation related work will continue as per schedule in the State whereas all educational institutions will remain closed till June 17.
CM Naveen heartily thanked all Odias for their cooperation and support in the State's fight against COVID-19.
