Bhubaneswar: Fear and panic gripped the capital city after a paw print, allegedly of a leopard, was spotted at Talasahi in Rangamatia area today afternoon.

On intimation, forest department personnel reached the spot and started a probe into the matter. According to reports, locals spotted the paw print in a field and immediately informed forest officials about it. One of the locals also claims to have seen a leopard in the area last night.

Later in the day, forest officials denied the paw print to be of a leopard. Patrolling will intensified by the forest department to ensure safety and security of the wild animals and human beings.

Notably on Monday, CCTV footage of a leopard roaming freely in densely populated Palaspalli area in Bhubaneswar started doing the rounds. After 24 hours of operation, the wild cat was successfully captured by Forest department officials on Tuesday night. However, the new case today has reinstated the fear again.
