Puri: The cooperation of all stakeholders in the upcoming Rath Yatra was sought by Law Minister Pratap Jena on Thursday while chairing the third coordination committee meeting for the festival here.

After Jena reviewed situation of the district in aftermath of cyclone FANI, Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) presented status of the construction of chariots following which officials were praised for the improvement in sanitation and power supply across the district.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) has been given the task to restore the 'Shree Jagannath Banaprakalpa' (Shree Jagannath Forest Project) spread over an area of 2500 hectares and submit a report to the SJTA chief within three months.

Similarly, improvement in health services and uninterrupted power supply has been sought from concerned department officials. The 22 persons who have supplied timber for construction of the chariots were felicitated in the meeting and instructions have been given to complete the remaining work by June 25.

Around 200 special buses will be running for Rath Yatra along with 25 battery-operated vehicles for differently-abled persons. Besides, there will be 192 special trains to Puri with 26 additional catering facilities for passengers, 62 ticket counters and 40 automatic vending machines and mobile app.

While all the roads connecting Puri are being repaired, 17 parking spots have been identified for convenience of tourists arriving in the town to attend the festival.
