Bhubaneswar: Gayatri Kishan, a female traffic cop, who was deployed at Nalco Square on 5th of February was caught on camera making Odisha Police and the citizens proud. A smart city resident captured her while she guided the path of a blind man across the street during heavy rush hours.

Today, Gayatri was felicitated for her noble deed by Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty.

The video shows Gayatri holding a visually-impaired man’s hand and helping him cross the street. Gayatri sighted the man with a stick in his hand trying desperately to cross the road and immediately rushed to help.

When the video posted by one Ayush Kumar Panda of the female cop’s ‘Good Samaritan’ gesture started doing the rounds on Twitter few days back, Commissionerate Police tweeted, “Thanks for your tweet. This will boost her to be more people friendly. It will help us recognize their empathetic gestures while on duty. We care.”
