Nayagarh: A lady Home Guard was rescued by police during an attempt to set herself on fire in front of the Nayagarh Collector office on Saturday.

Reportedly, Home Guard Lipirani Das had been posted at the Sadar Police Station six months back. However, after being relieved from the duty she has not be posted anywhere since last three days.

It is suspected that afraid to lose her job, Lipi poured kerosene on her body and attempted self-immolation as protest. As per reports, she has been detained and a probe initiated.
