Bhubaneswar: The Parents Association of city-based Kendriya Vidyalaya III today urged the public to ignore any form of misinformation regarding the day-to-day activities of the school.

"The parents association have met the school authorities with some demands and these demands have been settled. The senior KV authorities also intervened into the matter and addressed our grievances," Parents Association president Krushna Chandra Pati said.

Pati requested the parents and students not to pay attention to rumours on social media which say that the school has been shut. "The school is open and operating smoothly. Our demands have been considered," he added.

The parents association spoke to the media two days after a Std IX girl student attempted suicide by jumping off from the school's terrace. The girl took the drastic step allegedly after being beaten by the Physical Education teacher.

The parents association resorted to a protest after this incident following which the PE teacher was transferred.
