Puri: Dr Krishan Kumar on Thursday took charge as the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). Kumar, who is also the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Works Department, offered prayers before the Holy Trinity before assuming charge at the SJTA office here today.

An ardent devotee of Lord Jagannath, Kumar said that it was because of the blessings of the Lord, he has got this crucial responsibility. "It will be a partnership. I will be coordinating with all our officers and staff of SJTA and discharge our responsibilities effectively," he said.

"Our priority is the 'Niti' (rituals) of the Mahaprabhu and adherence to the Jagannath cult. I will review the system and then layout a strategy to implement the plans," he added. Dr Kumar exhorted the people of Odisha and especially the locals of Puri to help him and his team in carrying out the responsibilities to perfection.
