Odisha: Kendrapara Couple Sets Example, Donates Blood On Wedding Day

Kendrapara: There is no greater joy than saving a soul and newly-wed couple Surya Parida and Shilpa Bose has well realized that. Setting an example, the couple donated blood on their wedding day to spread awareness amongst their relatives and the society.

On Saturday, Shilpa of Badahat area and Surya of Ostapur village tied the wedding knot decked in red attire and going with the theme they also donated red drops of life. Voluntarily turning the wedding reception into a blood donation camp, the couple was aided by charitable organizations Paribartan Foundation and AMA Odisha.

They even encouraged some of their relatives to go ahead in the noble mission. “It was a unusual occasion, the relatives had come to attend the wedding reception. However, they spontaneously donated blood. In the past too, we have organised such camps at various places,” said members of Ama Odisha. A similar incident had occurred Chandol area of Kendrapara in June 2013.

It won’t be wrong to say that the couple started a new chapter in their life by ensuring that someone else too gets a new life.
