Odisha: Junior Clerk Of Puri District Education Office Arrested For Taking Bribe Of Rs 20,000

Puri: Vigilance sleuths today arrested the junior clerk of District Education Office for taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a lady teacher in a transfer case today afternoon.

The arrested accused Chittaranjan Khuntia was caught red-handed while demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 to regularize the placement order of a PT teacher Sasmita Senapati.

Reportedly, Senapati had been transferred to a school in Nimapara and wanted the order papers for the same. Khuntia had threatened that if he was not paid the bribe money then the transfer orders would be cancelled.

Senapati informed about the same to sleuths of Bhubaneswar vigilance and accordingly a raid was conducted when Khuntia was demanding bribe today. Soon after his arrest, raid was also conducted in his residence. He was forwarded to court, later in the day.
