Bhubaneswar: As many as 15 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders of Jajpur’s Binjharpur constituency along with several of their supporters joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today morning under the leadership of MLA Pramila Mallik.

The joining program took place at Naveen Niwas here and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was present during the occasion. He welcomed all the new entrants and said, “I am sure this will strengthen the party further.”

Binjharpur MLA Pramila Mallik said, “They have full faith in our CM Naveen Patnaik’s leadership which is why they took this step.”

Many of them have also alleged that they were neglected in the BJP and were not invited to party meeting when former Congress leaders had joined BJP after 2014 defeat. “We all decided to join BJD so that we can work for people in the grassroots level,” they said.
