Jajpur: In connection with the murder of a woman at Solpata in Panikoili area here in 2014, the additional district judge on Friday sentenced her husband and in-laws to life imprisonment.

The sentence was pronounced based on the statements of 15 witnesses, informed the government counsel. In 2014, the newly-wed woman Kusumlata Sahu was allegedly murdered and her body had been fished out from a nearby pond. She was being tortured by her in-laws for dowry, stated reports.

After further investigation, cops had arrested Kusum’s husband Akshaya Pal, her father-in-law Laxmidhar, mother-in-law Subhadra, brother-in law Ajay and her sister-in-law Priyatama.
