Odisha Govt’s Rs 134 Cr Special Package For Bolangir, Nuapada To Check Migration

Bolangir/Bhubaneswar: In a bid to resolve the plaguing problem of labour force migrating to other States for eking out living and also human trafficking, especially reported every year in the western Odisha districts of Bolangir and Nuapada, Odisha Government on Wednesday announced a special package of Rs 134 crore.

Odisha Labour Minister Sushant Singh announced it on the sidelines of a review meeting at the district headquarters town of Bolangir.

Singh on the day graced the review meeting at the Bolangir DRDA Office.

The Labour Minister announced the package for 30 gram panchayats (GPs) of Bolangir and Nuapada districts.

He informed that the two districts have been deemed as model districts for such a programme for which a blueprint has also been charted out. The maiden move by the State Government will also be replicated in other districts once it becomes successful.

The significant meeting was also attended by Odisha Labour Secretary Anu Garg, Commissioner Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav and also the Collectors of Kalahandi, Sonepur and Bargarh districts besides Bolangir and Nuapada.
