Odisha Govt Awards 11 Farmers With ‘Mukhyamantri Abhinav Krishi Yantrapati Samman’

Bhubaneswar: A total of 11 farmers were awarded with the State-level ‘Mukhyamantri Abhinav Krishi Yantrapati Samman’ on Sunday in recognition of their innovation done for agricultural implements.

Reportedly under the ‘Mukhyamantri Abhinaba Krushi Yantrapati Saman Yojana’ of the State Government, 90 farmers who have invented anything innovative like farm tools and implements had been selected from 30 districts of Odisha with three farmers from each district.

From among them, the top 11 farmers were awarded with cash prize of Rs 2 lakh for first position, Rs 1.5 lakh for second position and Rs 1 lakh for third position. While three farmers received the first prize, three others received second prize and remaining five received third prize.

Various workshops had been conducted by the State Government earlier to aware farmers about the scheme which was launched last year. More than 2000 farmers had submitted their applications under the scheme in last five months.

The 90 enterprising farmers were selected after a thorough scrutiny of the applications. All of them are entitled for district level awards of Rs 15,000 each for implementation of new and innovative methods in agriculture.
