Bhubaneswar: Former VIMSAR director Dr Ashwini Pujahari joined Congress in presence of PCC president in Bhubaneswar here today morning.

On February 9, Director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) Dr Pujahari had tendered his resignation from the post citing that he had no option left.

Last year on December, Pujahari had been served a show-cause notice after a video of him using unproven therapies for treatment with salt during a surgery had emerged. He had been sent on leave until further notice and he resigned after two months when there was no further development. He was also in news for his sting operations.

Today, he joined Congress hoping to begin his political journey before the upcoming polls.
