16 January 2020

Sambalpur: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids here on properties attached to Padiabahal Forest Ranger Suresh Mirdha.

The charges on Mirdha are amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The raids were conducted in four simultaneous locations- own three-storied house and daughter’s house at Putibandha, farmhouse at Subarnapur, and his office at Padiabahal.

Briefing the media, Vigilance DSP (Sambalpur) Dillip Kumar Kar said, “We will be looking into deposits, assets, gold ornaments and other properties and their antecedents during the raid.” He added that the raids were conducted on the basis of allegations against Mirdha and a search warrant obtained from the court of Special Judge, Vigilance, in Sambalpur.

Meanwhile squashing the claims, Mirdha said, “I’ve worked honestly for last 36 years. All the assets that are on my family’s or my name have been attained and managed solely on my salary and my inheritance.

The exact amount possessed by the ranger is yet to be ascertained.
