Odisha Fire Service Gear Up For Hassle-Free Diwali

Bhubaneswar: With just a day left for Diwali, the festival of lights, the Odisha Fire Service is all prepared to handle any mishaps that might occur amidst the festivities.

To deal with any emergency, 5000 fire service personnel have been deployed across the State, informed Chief Fire Officer Sukant Sethi.

He said, “The 337 Fire Stations across Odisha have been put on high alert with several temporary Fire Stations also set up for Diwali. Temporary stations have been set up for handling emergency situations. Five stations have been set up in Cuttack, three in Bhubaneswar, and two each in Berhampur, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Rourkela.”

“All fire service personnel will have walkie-talkies on them. We have also kept smaller vehicles as Quick Response Vehicles as per the situation’s demands,” CFO Sethi said.

He added that a specialized control room has been set up at Buxibazar, Cuttack to handle the calls on emergency number 101.

Chief Fire Officer Sukant Sethi concluded with conveying Diwali wishes and requesting everyone to follow Diwali advisory by the Commissionerate Police.
