Odisha: Excise Officials Seize Brown Sugar Worth Rs 12 Lakh In Balasore

Balasore: Sleuths of excise department officials seized 120 grams of brown sugar worth over Rs 12 lakh in Jaleswar area here today morning.

Acting on a tip-off, the officials chased the car and intercepted the vehicle on NH-60 near Gayatri Petrol Pump. On searching the four-wheeler, brown sugar was seized from the car and three persons were held in this connection with the incident.

Reportedly, the drug was being carried to Bhubaneswar after being procured from West Bengal. Rs 2820 cash and three mobile phones were also seized from the accused persons. Further investigation into the narcotics trade is on.
