Odisha: Ex-Pallahara MLA Rabi Pani Quits BJD

Bhubaneswar: In the run up to polls, former Pallahara MLA Rabi Narayan Pani quit the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today. He handed over his resignation to Odisha Chief Minister cum supremo of BJD at Naveen Niwas in the morning.

In his letter, he expressed displeasure over the functioning and state of affairs in BJD. Pani was also the BJD's observer for Jharsuguda and Sambalpur districts, stated reports.

He was elected MLA from Pallahara assembly constituency for the term 2009-2014. For the 2019 elections, BJD has fielded Mukesh Pal from the seat. The people of the constituency will vote in the third phase (April 29).
