Odisha: Elephant Carcass Unearthed In Mayurbhanj, Lady Forest Guard Suspended

Mayurbhanj: The carcass of a six-month-old elephant was dug out by a scientific team in Jamuchua area’s Kaptipada Forest Range following a lady forest guard was suspended today in connection with the incident.

Reportedly, the elephant calf had died a few days back following which forest guard Anita Singh had not informed the forest divisional officers and had buried it without permission.

After a scientific team excavated the elephant body few days back, a probe was initiated into the matter and the senior officials suspended the forest guard today. Later, the elephant was buried again following proper procedures.
