Rayagada: An election flying squad on Thursday seized Rs 10 lakh from a car near Kotpeta village in Rayagada district today. The squad, led by Rayagada Tehsilday Umashankar Behera intercepted the car while it was proceeding towards Antamada.

One person, who identified himself as a cotton trader, has been detained and questioned on the source of the money. The person in question said that he had withdrwan the money from a local bank three days back for distribution to cottol farmers. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
