Bhubaneswar: On Wednesday, three Lok Sabha candidates filed nominations for the first phase of elections and one LS candidate filed nomination for the second phase elections in Odisha.
Similarly, 14 candidates filed nomination for first phase Assembly elections and four candidates filed nominations for second phase of assembly elections.
So far, total five Lok Sabha candidates and 26 Assembly candidates have filed nominations with the Chief Electoral Officer in Bhubaneswar.
To enforce law and order, 3,355 non-bailable warrants have been executed and 2,916 licensed firearms have been deposited with the districts' administration.
Four illegal arms factory sealed and 59 firearms were seized during the raids. The Flying Squad confiscated Rs 8.33 lakh and the police, Rs 2.20 lakh, of unaccounted cash from different regions of the State.
The enforcement squads have raided multiple areas and removed hoardings and posters.
In Odisha, total 207 cases have been registered in connection with violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
The Helpline Number at the CEO's office received 121 calls and the C-Vigil app recorded 259 complaints in connection to election related violations, the Information and Public Relations Department stated.
