Bhubaneswar: State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar on Monday held a discussion with the Nodal Officers in charge of monitoring security during the ensuing general elections in Odisha.

Reportedly, today's meeting focused on the security measures to be adopted in the Phase I and Phase II of polling. Emphasis has been given on smooth conduct of elections in Maoist-infested areas.

The meeting is part of a series, which will continue till completion of elections, to discuss on matters including the deployment plan of security forces, said Kumar.

Detail discussion was held on deployment and movement of forces during Phase I and Phase II, which depends on the force allocation. Everything will be done as per standard operating procedure (SOP), he added.
