Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Tuesday directed Collectors of all districts to ensure strict compliance of the National Green Tribunal orders over solid waste management.

The State Government has taken a decision to ensure that door-to-door collection of garbage is done in all urban local bodies across the State.

During a video conference, Padhi directed the Collectors to ensure that 80 percent door-to-door collection of solid waste is completed in the next three months.

"The officials were also asked to identify landfill sites for disposal of municipal waste. The deadline for identification of landfill sites has been set to June 20," Padhi said.

Besides, the Government will be soon chalking an elaborate plan for effective disposal of solid waste which includes segregation of wet and dry waste.
