Odisha: Doctor Turns Saviour For Orphan In Remote Malkangiri

Malkangiri: An AROGYA PLUS doctor and an ambulance driver went out of their ways to fulfill their duties when they carried a patient sling for five kilometers in remote Malkangiri.

As per reports, the patient, orphaned Kumulu Kirsani, belongs to Nuaguda village of Badadural panchayat in Khairaput block of Malkangiri district. While he was unwell since last night, his condition worsened over time. The ambulance was intimated on Tuesday but could not reach the village because of bad roads.

Since no villager volunteered to help, Dr Shakti Prasad Mishra and the ambulance driver made a sling and carried the patient for five kilometers of hilly terrain till Belahadi main road. After that, the ambulance took the patient to Malkangiri.

Mobile Health Unit (AROGYA PLUS) Project is a Central Government sponsorship program under National Health Mission. It aims to organize a health awareness program, health camp, health check-up in remote pockets.
