Cuttack: DGP RP Sharma today reviewed the security arrangements for the September 22 visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Talcher and Jharsuguda.
Sharma called upon the concerned officers through video conferencing to take certain measures for smooth and incident free management of the programme.
The officers have been directed to prepare contingent plans in advance, deploy adequate forces at strategic locations and take up adequate patrolling and random checking around the meeting venues.
Besides, he instructed that there should be adequate planning for proper crowd dispersal after completion of the programme.
The entire programme including the routes from Helipad to the venue site should be kept under adequate CCTV surveillance. Entry passes should be felicitated to media people for smooth coverage of the programme in consultation with SPG.
There should be arrangement of Safe Houses for the VVIP and adequate checking of hotels or lodging should be taken up.
ADGP (Provisioning) YB Khurania and ADGP (Modernisation) VT Mishra have been deputed to Jharsuguda and Talcher respectively to supervise the arrangements.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of Odisha Police including Director Intelligence Sunil Roy, IGP Intelligence RK Sharma and IGP (Law & Order) Amitav Thakur.
