Bhubaneswar: In order to get feedback on police response and their conduct under the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative, DGP (In-charge) Satyajit Mohanty on Thursday interacted over phone with persons who have lodged complaints at separate police stations in Odisha.
Mohanty had a conversation with around 10 persons from Titlagarh, Kandhamal, Bhadrak, Jagatpur, etc. to find out how were they treated in the police station, was any action taken on their complaint and was any fear or favour involved in it.
As per the findings police have taken prompt action in almost all cases, there was delay in one case and as another complaint is over a land dispute, police have to depend on the revenue authority for any progress on the case.
Mohanty informed that some cases demand further enquiry, which is mentioned in the feedback section of the Mo Sarkar portal. He however clarified that the probe is not done as per the complaint, but is unbiased and follows legal procedure.
