Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Director General of Police Dr RP Sharma along with Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty visited IDCO Exhibition Ground at 10.30 am today to review the security arrangements for the swearing in ceremony of the new Odisha Government on May 29 (Wednesday).

After keeping a close watch on all the arrangements, DGP RP Sharma briefed the media and said, “Our main objective is to provide security to all VVIPs. Odisha Governor, Chief Justice, high officers and several other dignitaries will be in attendance during the program. Along with the entire legislative assembly members, some special invitees will also be present. Around 5000 people are expected in the ceremony and we want to ensure comfort and convenience of all these people.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police Anup Sahoo, BDA Commissioner and Secretary of Works Department also took stock of the arrangements along with the DGP. Preparations like building the stage and putting up tents have also begun in full swing.

“We are also keeping a watch on suspicious characters at railway station, busy markets and bus stands to avoid any untoward incident. Elaborate traffic and parking arrangements will also be done so that common people are not affected,” he concluded.
