Odisha DGP Chairs State Level Coordination Meeting With RPF

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure safety and security to the train passengers as well maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Odisha DGP chaired the quarterly State Level Coordination Meeting here today.

Talking to media, Odisha ADG (Railways) & Coastal Security Pranabindu Acharya informed, “Today we had a quarterly meeting between RPF and GRP and DGP is the chairman. Basically, the safety of railway passengers and smooth running of trains are discussed. We also discussed about maintaining the proper coordination between the two agencies of RPF and GRP.”

He added, “Implementation of the Whatsapp group creation between the inspectors of RPF and GRP.  It helps in real time intelligence sharing. Also sharing of information on criminals.”

He further informed, “Decision was also taken on Cooperation Meeting between the SP Railway and Divisional Security Commissioner of RPF every month.”

“If proper coordination and cooperation is maintained, crime can be checked. Joint team will make the list of the thieves and other criminals committing crimes in the trains,” stated the ADG.

RPF IG Rajaram informed, “Today DGP, Odisha had convened the State Level Coordination Meeting with Railways. The Home Department has formed a committee and this meeting will be held in every three months. This meeting is being held for the last two years.”

He added, “In today’s meeting, we discussed about the law and order related issues with railway in Odisha. Minutes of the meeting have been noted and will be implemented.”

He further said, “The main matter of passenger security is the theft of passenger luggage. Detailed discussion was held on the transgender issue in passenger security. A plan of action has been made to catch the culprits.”

“So far the Rath Yatra arrangement is concerned, a high level meeting was held yesterday in the office of the ECoR GM. It was attended by SP, Puri and higher authorities of RPF and GRP. All necessary arrangements will be made for the passengers during the Rath Yatra,” he informed.
