Cuttack: Two dozen cattle and four goats were burned down in a major fire incident at Nahanga village under Mahanga Police limits on late Wednesday.

While the official cause behind fire is yet to be ascertained, locals are of belief that mosquito coil that was lighted to ward off mosquitoes in the cattle shed could have caused the fire.

The owner of the cattle shed had reportedly taken large amounts of loan from private money lenders in the village. This fateful incident has caused him severe mental trauma, relatives said. They added that they have requested district administration for some kind of monetary help to pull them out of this dire situation.
