Bhadrak: Demanding the construction of an over-bridge and the stoppage of several express trains at Charampa railway station, Congress workers of the district staged a protest on railway tracks causing a major jolt to vehicular movement.

The bandh that started at 7.30 am in the morning gained momentum when the agitators took to the tracks to put forward their demands of a flyover and halt of five superfast trains at the station. They sat in the middle of the tracks shouting slogans in unison.

As a result, several trains have halted at Soro and Markona areas as their passage has not been permitted by the workers. Passengers of Kharagpur-Khordha train were seen getting irritated and creating ruckus, stated reports.
