Odisha CM Visits Rayagada, Inaugurates & Lays Foundations For Projects Worth Rs 1,270 Cr

Rayagada: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Rayagada district in southern Odisha in a bid to inaugurate and lay foundation for a slew of projects worth Rs 1,270 crore.

He also attended the Mission Shakti Conclave here and interacted with the women Self Help Groups (SHGs) of this district.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, “Today I inaugurated projects worth Rs 1250 crore. The mothers of our Mission Shakti are performing well. Zero percent interest loan is being provided to you. I trust most our women brigade’s leadership. For this reason, I have been striving to accord them 33% percent of reservation in the Parliament and Assemblies.”

He added, “You all know about KALIA Yojana. It is a historic step for the progress and prosperity of farmers. It has shown way to the entire nation. KALIA Yojana is for small farmers, sharecroppers, landless farmers and farm labourers. Over 30 lakh farmers have reaped the benefit. The second installment of KALIA will be given from April 1.”

“Some people are spreading rumour that KALIA will be stopped. Those people are always telling lies like this. KALIA amount is yours and your right. Your amount is being given to you. Nobody can stop KALIA,” the Odisha Chief Minister assured.

As per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), 6729 SHGs of this district have received Seed Money assistance to a tune of over Rs 10 crore, 6735 SHGs have received Digital Empowerment incentive to a tune of Rs 2.20 crore while 11 Block-level SHG Mahasanghs (federations) have received financial assistance to a tune of Rs 2.75 crore.

After reaching the meeting venue at Khaliguda of this district, the Chief Minister inaugurated 89 development projects constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 737.42 crore and also laid foundation stones for 48 development projects to be bult at an estimated cost of Rs 532.58 crore. Earlier in the day, the aircraft carrying the Chief Minister could not land at Kalahandi’s Lanjigarh due to bad weather following which it was diverted to Koraput’s Jeypore airstrip from where he boarded a helicopter to the meeting site here.
