Odisha CM Visits Jajpur, Dedicates Utkal University’s New Campus (Rural) At Chandikhol

Jajpur: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Jajpur district in a bid to inaugurate and lay foundation for various development projects worth Rs152.49 crore. Prominent among them is the dedication of the Utkal University New Campus (Rural) at Chandikhol.

As per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) sources, it is the first ever rural campus of Utkal University.

The Chief Minister dedicated it to the people of Odisha through digital launching in presence of Utkal University Vice Chancellor Prof Soumendra Mohan Patnaik.

The newly-inaugurated campus is adjacent to the main building of Baba Bhairabananda Autonomous College, Chandikhol.

Reaching the venue at Badchana here in the district in the pre-noon hours (11.30 am), the Chief Minister also inaugurated five development projects built at an estimated cost of over Rs 109 crore and laid foundations for eight development projects to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 43.49 crore.

In his address, the Chief Minister said, “It is a matter of immense pleasure that the Rural Campus of Utkal University was inaugurated at Chandikhol today. It will make the Platinum Jubilee occasion of Utkal University more memorable. My motto is your prosperity.”

Inaugurated Projects:

1) High Level Bridge over Badagenguti river along Badachana-Balichandrapur road stretch

2) High Level Bridge over Sanagenguti river along Sukdeipur-Tihakaranda road stretch

3) 100-seated ST & SC hostel for Baishimouza Dhananjay Bidyapitha

4) Freedom Figther Memorial at Badachana

Foundations Laid Projects:

1) Improvement of Bandalo-Endarapada road

2) Improvement of Lalitgiri-Udaygiri-Ratnagiri road

3) Conservation of Sanagenguti river embankment

4) Balichandrapur Grid Sub-Station

5) High Level Bridge over Sanagenguti river along Bhubanpur-Jagannathpur road stretch and other proposed projects.
