Odisha CM Urges MEA To Ensure Safe Return Of Odisha Youths Detained In Bangkok

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday has urged the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure safe return of two youths from Odisha allegedly detained in Bangkok.

The Chief Minister Office asked the Ministry and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to look into the matter in response to a tweet by Akhil Agarwal.

"Dear @IndiainThailand, friend's friends detained in Bangkok BKK today morning without any reason. Just 21 years old age. Please help. They have gone for tourism & nothing else obviously. Their passports have been taken, they are clueless. @MEAIndia", the tweet read.

In response, the CMO Office tweeted, "Urge @MEAIndia & @DrSJaiShankar to look into the plea and ensure safe return of youths from #Odisha."

Reportedly, two youths identified as Kanhaiya Dhawalia (21) of Birmitrapur and Bipin Agarwal (29) of Rajgangpur have been detained in Bangkok for reasons unknown.
