Odisha CM To Meet PM On June 11

Bhubaneswar: After being sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Odisha for the fifth consecutive time, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time after Modi became the Prime Minister for the consecutively second time.

The much awaited meeting of Odisha Chief Minister and Prime Minister is slated on June 11 (Tuesday). As per schedule, Naveen will board a Vistara flight to New Delhi departing from Biju Patnaik International Airport at 12:55 PM on June 9 (Sunday). Though he will arrive at New Delhi in the same afternoon at around 03:25 PM, he is reportedly not going to carry out any official business till his meeting with Modi.

Sources said, regional satrap Naveen along with his newly-elected MPs will be meeting PM Modi amid the speculations of senior BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab contending for the coveted post of Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker while NDA ally Shiv Sena is vehemently opposed to it. Shiv Sena is eying for that plum post dubbing it as its natural claim.

Odisha CM and the PM are likely to discuss the rebuild Odisha measures in the aftermath of devastating cyclonic storm FANI. Naveen is also expected to meet certain Union Ministers, especially Union Health Minister and Agriculture Minister to discuss about the Centre’s flagship health programmes ‘Ayushman Bharat’ and PM-KISAN.

After meeting PM Modi on Tuesday, the Odisha CM is also going to call on President Ram Nath Kovind and later follow up important works pending with the Central Government.

On June 15 (Saturday), CM Naveen is scheduled to attend the 5th Meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog at 02:30 PM. He will return to Odisha the following evening in an Air India flight departing from Indira Gandhi International Airport at 06:40 PM.
