Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is all set to lay foundation stone today for several projects worth Rs 265 crore as part of the Puri city development plan under the Augmentation Basic Amenities & Development of Heritage & Architecture at Puri (ABADHA) Yojana.
The CM will travel to Puri today to inaugurate the projects in order to bring forth high-quality services and facilities for the lakhs of devotees and tourists that travel to the holy city.
As part of the heritage preservation and infrastructure development plans, CM will inaugurate a trumpet bridge, the first of its kind in Odisha, that would connect Puri bypass at Malatipatpur with Jagannath Ballav Math for Rs 190 crore. A multi-layer parking lot along with market space and a meditation centre for 10,000 people would also be inaugurated in the Math premises at Rs 180 crore.
The project includes 1250 vending outlets at the localities of Old Jail area in the Puri city along with Jatrika and Municipality market areas.
A multi-level parking space constructed on the premises of Puri Old Jail will also be inaugurated today. The parking space can accommodate 500 cars. Similarly, another multi-level parking space at Jatrika with a capacity for accommodating 400 cars will be dedicated to people of Odisha.
The Municipality Market will be renovated into an ultra-modern market complex which will have 500 vending outlets and parking space that can accommodate 100 cars.
All these works have been executed by the Works Department and Odisha Bridges & Constructions Corporation.
