Odisha CM Seeks Lord Kalia’s Blessings Before Grand Launch Of ‘KALIA’ Scheme

Puri: Ahead of the grand launch of Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme for farmers in Puri today, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Puri Srimandir today morning to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath, popularly referred to as Kalia.

Accompanied by SJTA chief Pradipta Mohapatra and Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi, the Chief Minister went into the sanctum sanctorum to seek Holy Trinity’s blessings and later addressed the media. He said, “I came to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath as we are launching the very important KALIA scheme for farmers today.” The Chief Minister then proceeded to the event venue for the grand launch.

As over 2 lakh farmers from 314 blocks of Odisha have visited Malatipatpur for the scheme’s launch today, IG Soumendra Priyadarshi said, “We have made traffic and parking arrangements, along with safety measures at sea beach and Srimandir to ensure that any untoward incident is prevented. 50 platoons of police force along with 6-7 SP commandants and 250 officers have been deployed across the heritage town for today’s event.”

As announced earlier, 12.45 lakh beneficiaries of the first phase under the scheme will get their money credited directly to their respective bank accounts on January 26 while the scheme will be launched in Puri today by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
