Bhubaneswar: In his latest overdrive for zero tolerance against corruption, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday dismissed 16 government employees from their jobs.
The dismissed employees include five headmasters, four engineers, two revenue inspectors (RIs), one pharmacist, one amin, one panchayat executive officer (PEO) and two clerks, said an official press release issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
These officials have been convicted by the State Vigilance department on corruption charges, the release added.
The dismissed government employees are: deputy executive engineer of Bhubaneswar R & B division-I Jibesh Chandra Rath, assistant engineer of Daspalla Rural Works Tirupati Venkateswar Pani, junior engineer of Kamakshyanagar block Basanta Kumar Patra, junior engineer of Jajpur Minor Irrigation division Prakash Chandra Singh, former headmaster in-charge of Balarampur of Jagatsinghpur Abhay Kumar Biswal, former headmaster of of Sarangpali primary school of Mathili block Kapil Chandra Nayak, in-charge headmaster of PUP school of Papadahandi in Nabarangpur Prasanna Kumar Patra, former in-charge headmaster of TOME school of Papadahandi Sridhar Harijan, in-charge headmaster of SEC Adari new primary school of Kotagada in Kandhamal Kanhu Charan Digal, revenue inspector of Kodala tehsil Mangalu Nayak, revenue inspector of Salapada special land acquisition office Narahari Ojha, amin of Basudevpur PD (R&R) of Keonjhar Sarat Chandra Sethi, former pharmacist of Puruna Cuttack CHC in Boudh Santosh Kumar Panda, junior clerk of Icchapur high school Nakul Kumar Khamari, senior clerk in the office of the BEO Harbhanga in Boudh Birendra Kumar Panda and panchayat executive officer of Nandapur block in Koraput Prasanta Chandra Nayak.
Worth mentioning, the State government in the last one month apart from dismissing 37 officials has stopped pension of six.
