Odisha CM Orders Development 101 Schools As 'Utkarsh Vidyalayas' In 30 Districts

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed officials of the School and Mass Education Department to develop 101 schools in 30 districts as Utkarsh Vidyalayas. These schools will be having a separate English medium section from Std I. Every such school will be provided a grant of Rs 25 lakh, a press release issued by the Chief Minister's Office stated.

Every school in the State will offer spoken English courses from Std I. The necessary infrastructure, including qualified teachers, will be provided on a priority basis, the press release read.

To attract students and parents towards Government schools, the State Government initiated steps like strengthening the management, quality education and personality development of students.

The School and Mass Education Department will come under Mo Sarkar soon. The phone number of parents will be digitised so that the Ministers and authorities can contact them. Under the 5-T initiative, students can avail their certificates online.
