Bhubaneswar: After being sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Odisha for the fifth consecutive time, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik embarked on a one-week visit to the nation capital New Delhi on Sunday afternoon.

The much awaited meeting of Odisha Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated on June 11 (Tuesday). As per the schedule, Naveen boarded a Vistara flight to New Delhi departing from Biju Patnaik International Airport at 12:55 PM on June 9 (Sunday) and reached New Delhi later in the afternoon.

Reportedly, the regional satrap along with his newly-elected MPs will be meeting PM Modi amid the speculations of senior BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab contending for the post of Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker while NDA ally Shiv Sena vehemently opposing.

The two leaders will also likely discuss the restoration works in the aftermath of cyclone FANI and Odisha's demand for a special category status. Naveen is expected to meet certain Union Ministers, especially Union Health Minister and Agriculture Minister to discuss about the Centre’s flagship health programmes ‘Ayushman Bharat’ and PM-KISAN.

After meeting PM Modi on Tuesday, the Odisha CM is also going to call on President Ram Nath Kovind and later follow up important works pending with the Central Government.

On June 15 (Saturday), CM Naveen is scheduled to attend the 5th Meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog at 02:30 PM. He will return to Odisha the following evening in an Air India flight departing from Indira Gandhi International Airport at 06:40 PM.
