Bhubaneswar: A day after the fourth-cum-final phase polling of the ongoing general elections ended in Odisha (both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections), BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik left on his tour to the national capital city today morning and met the Chief Election Commissioner.

In his media interaction, he said that he urged Election Commission regarding deferring of Patkura by-elections in view of impending Cyclone Fani.

As per the itinerary issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Chief Minister left Odisha’s capital city today at 9.40 am by UK-786 from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here. After landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, the Odisha Chief Minister will make his halt at his paternal house there.

It is notable to mention here that Patkura assembly polls had been adjourned after the death of BJD candidate Bed Prakash Agarwalla. Following that, Naveen Patnaik has fielded Sabitri Agarwalla (widow of Bed Prakash Agarwalla) as the candidate from the seat.

The election is set to be held on May 19.
