**Bhubaneswar: ** Marking the 102nd birth anniversary of Odisha’s legendary leader and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, his son and incumbent Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched “Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas” programme to reach out to the people in rural areas in order to involve them in the developmental activities and give them a platform to directly appraise him of their grievances and timely redressal.
Earlier on Saturday last week, the Chief Minister had launched mobile video vans from the State Secretariat here. The mobile video van will criss cross the rural areas and will make a direct link with the State Secretariat and Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). By doing so, the people will directly interact with the CM about their local problems so that there will be prompt solution of their grievances.
On the inaugural occasion, the CM directly talked to the elected people’s representatives and common people through video conference from the State Secretariat here and the people of Sambalpur, Ganjam, Jajpur and Narayanpatna (Koraput district) rural pockets vented their grievances.
For the first time, this scheme will let the common people directly interact with the CM about their grievances. The problems of the people of the State that are not being redressed in other schemes laid down by the State Government will be solved under this scheme.
In his key note address on the special occasion, the Odisha CM said that by this new scheme he will be reaching out to different villages every week and will try to solve the problems right there.
In the inaugural session only, four panchayats listed out their grievances before the CM for approval. The Chief Secretary informed live that all the lists were being approved by the CM and will be sent to the respective District Collectors for further implementation.
