Khurda: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik today kick-started party’s “Gharey Gharey Shankha” mission on the occasion of party idol and legendary statesman Biju Patnaik (fondly called Biju Babu)’s 103rd birth anniversary.

It was formally launched by the BJD supremo from Padhan Sahi, Kantilo near Sundarpada under Jatani block in the district here.

In his address, the Chief Minister exhorted “Gharey Gharey Shankha Lagantu” (to have the party symbol at every household) and simultaneously put forth opinions to be incorporated in the party manifesto in a bid to expedite further the ongoing development of Odisha.

Yesterday, BJD had announced about this state-wide mission to be carried out by its women’s wing. This new mission will be spread across Odisha at every household by the women brigade of Biju Mahila Janata Dal.

The party has also stated that this new mission will be launched in a bid to feel the pulse and gauge the mood of the people of Odisha as well as take up the opinions and advice of the people to expedite further the ongoing development of the State.

It was also stated that every party is at present preparing manifesto for the upcoming general elections. But, the people of Odisha play the pivotal role in drafting BJD’s manifesto.
