Odisha CM Lauds Cyclone Preparedness Of Outgoing Collectors

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik praised the planning and execution of former Collectors of Khurda, Puri and Kendrapada in combating extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani, which hit Odisha on May 3.

Naveen hailed the efforts of former Khurda Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra, former Puri Collector Jyoti Prakash Das and former Kendrapada Collector Dasarathi Satpathy as 'timely' and 'highly skilled'.

The three senior officers were felicitated by the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat today. "The Collectors of these three districts have successfully excecuted the evacution of several lakh persons from the most vulnerable areas, in the process, saving lives," the Chief Minister noted.

Das, Mishra and Satpathy were replaced in their respective positions by Balwant Singh, Bhupinder Singh Punia and Premchand Choudhary. The three outgoing Collectors will be taking new charges from Wednesday, said sources.
