Cuttack: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 36 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at CDA in this millennium city for transformation in sanitation management under the State Government’s “Ama Sahara Ama Unnati” programme.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for Maulana Azad National Urdu University campus at Sector 13 of CDA in this old capital city of Odisha. The proposed university will offer polytechnic and ITI courses in the first phase.

In his media reactions, the Chief Minister said, “I’m delighted that the sewage plant has started today. This will greatly benefit Cuttack city.”

It has been officially informed that the advanced treatment plant at CDA has been completed with a budget of Rs 110 crores with capacity of 3 crore 60 lakh litres per day.

Besides, more than 275 km of sewage pipeline network has been completed under the JICA programme. A drainage pumping station at Police Colony in this silver city with a discharge capacity of 72 lakh litres per hour has also been completed.
