Odisha CM Grieves Odia Jawan’s Death In J&K

Bhubaneswar: Expressing grief over the death of Odia jawan Hemant Panda, who was martyred in Kashmir on Republic Day yesterday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik extended heartfelt condolences to his family members. . Taking to Twitter, Naveen Patnaik wrote, “I am deeply saddened on hearing about the death of Odia jawan Hemant Panda in Jammu and Kashmir, on the occasion of Republic Day. May his soul rest in peace. I extend condolences to his family.”

While the nation was celebrating the 70th Republic Day, a Odia jawan lost his life while serving his motherland. The jawan identified as Hemant Panda from Atharang village under Begunia Police limits of Khurda district was martyred in a terrorist attack in Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir.

25-year-old Panda had joined the armed forces two years back. After the attack, he was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition but he died while undergoing treatment.
