Odisha CM Felicitates Departments For Successful Conduct Of Men's Hockey World Cup

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated various departments for successful and smooth conduct of the Odisha Men's Hockey World Cup held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar last year.

Bhubaneswar Development Authority, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Odisha Mining Corporation, Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation, Odisha Sports Department, Odisha Tourism Department, Hockey India, Odisha Handlooms & Handicrafts Department and Commissionerate Police were felicitated by the Chief Minister at Kalinga Stadium.

Appreciating officials of the departments, Patnaik said, "We could do it. We did it with all the style and substance. We were at the focus of global sporting lenses for more than a fortnight. Odisha got global recognition as a sports destination due to all your efforts."

He further acknowledged the hard work put by officials of the departments to make the event a huge success. He termed it as the success of Team Odisha and a finest example of team work as all the teams participating in the mega sports event, the officials accompanying them and the spectators went back with happy memories.

The Chief Minister thanked each one of the officials on behalf of the people of Odisha for their sincere hard work and dedication and said "We will make Odisha the sports capital of India and provide great opportunities for our youth. Bondey Utkal Janani."
