Odisha CM Expresses Deep Grief Over Demise Of Mountaineer Kalpana Dash

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief at the sad demise of acclaimed mountaineer Kalpana Dash.

She succumbed in an unfortunate incident at Mt Everest during her return after scaling the highest peak for the second time.

Naveen condoled the bereaved family and directed the Sports Department to initiate immediate steps to bring back her remains to Odisha.

"The Chief Minister directed the Sports Department to take steps through diplomatic channel to bring back the mortal remains of late Kalpana Das to Odisha," a statement from the Chief Minister's office noted.
