Odisha CM Dedicates 5 Mega Lift Irrigation Projects To Narsinghpur People In Cuttack District

Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited Narsinghpur block under Badamba assembly constituency in the district and inaugurated as well as laid foundation stones for a slew of projects worth over Rs 931 crore.

As per a communiqué from the Odisha Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Naveen reached Anant Narayan High School Field of Narasinghpur at around 12.15 pm left for the meeting venue.

There he inaugurated Rs 225 crore worth five mega lift irrigation projects.

With the launch of these projects, the farmers of 162 villages under Narasinghpur block in Cuttack district will be benefitted as the five mega lift irrigation projects will cater to the irrigational needs of 9950 hectares of agricultural land there, the CMO press note stated.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of Mahanadi Mega Drinking Water Project. This mega pipe water project will be set up at an estimated cost of Rs 273 crore. Once completed, it will benefit residents of around 73 panchayats of both Badamba and Narasinghpur blocks.

Among others, Rs 80 crore worth Narasinghpur Electric Grid along with Sub Grids at Gopapur, Dhobaninala and Maradmukha were also dedicated to the public by the Chief Minister.

Later, Naveen Patnaik addressed a massive public gathering and disseminated information of various public welfare schemes currently launched by his government for the people of the State.

He also distributed assets and benefits to the beneficiaries under various development schemes.

Prominent among others, Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, local MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, Cuttack Collector Arvind Agrawal and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
